Avi to dvd what do u think

vbimport

i have used a few of these programs now that supose to convert avi to dvd and i dont think that much to them ,most of them are dead slow or they stop encoding about half way though,or the sound keeps jumping
i know some of this is how they were rip in the first place

i wonder what other people used and what they thought to them

i prefer dvd2svcd, which does also do aci to dvd. Together with cce (an decoder) it works perfect

encoder damian
I like DVD2SVCD too. Making a DVD out of a AVI file is a waste since the source is not even close to enough bitrate to motivate spending a DVD-disc on it.

agree, better make svcd’s of them…and put 4 or more svcd’s on one dvd

i found sometimes problems with the sound sync or stopping/crashing while encoding is sometimes attributed to the codec’s installed. Try updating your divx or xvid etc codecs and see if it still happens

I too would like to burn avi’s directly to dvd without quality loss.
Every time I convert to MPG with TMPENG or whatever, it looks like crap. It there anyway I can burn without quality loss??
thanks
