Avi to dvd and Ps2

Maybe this Question has been asked and answered more times that the sun has risen, if so sorry, and point me to the Thread that has it. well, here goes…

My Dvd player = Playstation 2
My dvd Burner = Litey 451s
My movie extension= .AVI

Now, how would I go about going from the sweet little .AVI file on my hard drive to a Nice Dvd - r that will play on my Playstation 2?

(bonus noob question) - What is the best DVDr/rw Media to use?

Yes you are right, many many many times!!! The use of the Search button at the top of every page would have given you all the answers your looking for.
