AVI file has a hiccup

I have a avi file that has a real strange sound.
Sounds like a hiccup. More in passages with more sound, in quiet passages less hiccups.

Any idea what that could be?

GSpot says
Video Codec is DivX 5.0
Runtime=01:56:51 (175,280 fr)
xy=448x320 (1.40:1) [=7:5]
Bitrate=694 kb/s
qf=0.194 bits/pixel

Audio Codec is MPEG-1 Layer 3
Bitrate=132 kb/s (66/ch, stereo) VBR LAME3.92
FS=48000 Hz

Used windows media player and vlc to play it but both make hiccups(VLC less but still noticeable)

Maybe you have not enough CPU power.

What are your specs?

Well an Athlon64 3000+ should be enought

Used VirtualDub and changed Audio to constant bitrate, now the hiccup is gone.

Good to know :slight_smile:

I think it either were not correctly converted to mp3 VBR or the installed codec is not up to date.
