Asta lavista AVG!
OK, is there any antivirus software out there (free or paid) that;
a. Actually works
b. doesn’t call home every 15 seconds to see if it needs updating
c. doesn’t broadcast to the entire bloody world (or worse sell to third parties) my entire life history?

d. Just disconnect from the internet and your worries are gone.

If it doesn’t call home to update then your A/V is worthless and all or many A/V will broadcast one form or another. It’s up to you the user to set your preferences so it doesn’t broadcast and only “Update”. Fail to do that and it’s your Fail not the A/V fault. When you installed and used it you “Agreed” to their policies whether you like it or not. And if one feel they can’t use it then follow my option “d” then.

I’m not interested to hear back from everyone who doesn’t like this product, but Microsoft Security Essentials/Windows Defender has been doing this for years through Windows Update.

Somehow I get the feeling that AVG won’t be able to SaaS me anytime soon. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s SaaSy software!
