Avast ends support of Windows XP and Windows Vista next year

Antivirus vendor Avast will end support of Windows XP and Windows Vista next year. Avast Antivirus client version 19 will require at least Windows 7, according to the antivirus company in a message on its website targeted at business customers.

For what it’s worth, Comodo Internet Security has yet to announce plans to drop support for XP or Vista. When they do, I’m sure it will be the same story: you can’t use new versions, but you can still download A/V definitions for old versions. In fact, Comodo Internet Security 11.x uses the same databases as 5.8.
