Lets say you start DVD fab and select "Full Disk" and let it create the _TS folder instead of creating an ISO....
...what good is that? What can you do with the folder/files? Can you play the DVD/Video from these files?
Any info appreciated!
Yes you can play those files or burn them to DVD. Those are actual DVD Folders/files.
As shown in this thread, Posts #67 to #74, but please also read Post #78.
As stated you can also burn using the VIDEO_TS Folder, with let's say ImgBurn, to a single layer blank disc or a dual layer blank disc.
Download the free version of ISOBuster and look inside the ISO file: you will find the familiar VIDEO_TS folder filled with IFOs, BUPs and VOBs. There is no magic or great virtue to the ISO file and for some purposes the non-imaged VIDEO_TS folder is actually preferred.
Also if you put a disc that you have backed up into your drive & open it up, guess what you will find? An AUDIO_TS folder & a VIDEO_TS folder.
Thanks everyone! I have been using HD Decrypter to make ISOs of movies that I then mount with CD/DVD emulator software. I never write them to optical media.
With your help I now undersand that you can creat an ISO form the _TS folders, but is it possible to watch a DVD from the _TS folders without having to creat an ISO and then mount it?
Have you ever taken a store-bought out of the package, put it in your DVD player and sat back and enjoyed the film?
If you have, then you've just answered your own question.
If you haven't, then try it and answer your own question.
Ha! Makse sense to me! Thanks for the help ya'all
