Audio Problems

My cousin is going to video my upcoming wedding and I want to edit it together into a professional looking dvd to give round the family afterwards.

Is it possible to remove snippets of sound and overlay a music track - i.e when my partner and her dad arrive at the cermony in their car I’d quite like to have the footage there, without the sound and let a nice song be playing.

I’m fairly new to all this and still a complete novice and apologise if I’m asking silly questions.

Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin, and welcome.

Yes, it is not only possible, but fairly easy, with most decent video editing softwares. Most of them allow for adding audio and video tracks, and you can then either cut the audio that you don’t want from the original track, or you can simply overlay your new audio over the top of it and then fade into the new track.
