Audio-CD's + Lite-On CD-Rewriter 40x12x40 Extern USB2.0 Retail

A friend of my, want’s to buy the Lite-On CD-Rewriter 40x12x40 Extern USB2.0 Retail. Which he’s gonna connect to his new notebook.

My questions are:

  1. Can this baby burn protected audio-CD’s and so yes with which firmware?
  2. Can this baby burn protected data-CD’s like all other Lite-On’s (I think it can, but just to be sure)?

Does someone have a link to a review of this babie.

What does a USB2.0 card for a noteboook costs, because he only got USB1.0 (and then it burns on lower speeds!!)

Anyone?

Depends on which model it is, but with latest firmwares it should copy as much protected stuff any any other drive.
USB-1 is a BAD idea, deffinitely get the USB-2 card. Reviews should be available at www.cdrlabs.com.

Reviews should be available at www.cdrlabs.com.

I already looked at CDRLabs, but they don’t have a review of the Lite-On 40x12x40 USB2.0 rewriter.

Anyone else have a link to a review?

you just have to know where to look, LiteOn’s are always hiding:

Fun!! :stuck_out_tongue:
You’re correct, thanks for the info. Gonna read it right away.

Read the review, but nothing about copying (data/audio) protections.
But i think this is gonna be the burner he’s gonna buy.
