Audio CD Burns Successfully, Fails Data Check, Plays OK

Hi folks,

I have a question for the Great Collective Wisdom…

Running an Aopen DUW1608/ARR DVD/CD drive in an XP box. This was a warrany replacement for an Aopen DUW1608/12x. After installation, I burned a DVD and a CD and they both burned and tested fine.

Anyhow, I’ve just been burning a few audio CDs from some free live music I downloaded from (all 100% legal, of course) and a couple of the discs failed the post-burn data tests. I took them over to a regular CD player and tried playing them. One played most of the tracks but had trouble with a couple tracks, so that was a coaster. The other played fine.

So, what gives? How concerned about this should I be? Might this simply have been funky media? Or…?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Burn AUDIO-CDs with slower speeds.

Thanks. The first one I burned at 48x and the second one at 12x. The second one still failed validation, but played ok.
