If you consider flashing your drive with the latest Jlms (liteon) firmware - and I didn’t say you should - you can now do it in a jiffy, in Windows.
I just posted GH5S-D on my Dell page:
It’s just the original GH5S where I changed 1 byte in the preflash checkup, to make it agree to flash a Dell Ltd-163 drive. Meaning that the binary bit, the part actually flashed to the drive is 100% original.
Mind you, I don’t say Dell’s firmware are bad! In fact I’m using latest Dell on my original retail Liteon right now Only I’ve seen a post claiming Dell’s fw is less suitable for ripping copy protected audio. Don’t know if that’s true.
