This drive is crossflashable only into Samsung SH-224BB [edit: OR SH-224DB; see below!]

#3

How i do that? :S

Read the FAQ in Samsung drives section.

Just curious … Did you manage to revive your drive after flashing it with the DB firmware?

Arrrrrgh! I’ve forgot to wrote that not long ago new versions of 24F1ST appeared which are now rebadged 224DB drives. :frowning: I’m sorry that I haven’t posted this info earlier.

IMPORTANT INFO for everyone - exact version of 24F1ST can be recognized by drive’s bottom cover which should match 224BB OR 224DB - look at the location of the squared dent:

SH-224BB

SH-224DB

And here is the earlier 24F1ST version photo gallery - you can see that location of the squared dent is the same as on 224BB bottom cover:

http://www.nix.ru/include/view-photo.html?good_id=153702&pid=2258

And I’ve crossflashed few 24F1ST drives into 224BB by myself (all drives had manufactured date Jan 2013). Later drives (for example Jun 2013) are rebadged 224DB.

I appologize again for forgetting to post this important info.

marcus_667, is your drive totally bricked? MTKflash should help if the drive can’t be recognized by samsung flasher…
hi need instrucions for cross 24f1st , thanks
Why do you want to crossflash? What feature does the SH-224_B have that the 24F1ST doesn’t?

#13

Some information for those who wants to crossflash 24F1ST into TSST drive: if your drive is shown in Windows as DRW-24F1ST, it’s definitely 224BB, but if your drive is shown as DRW-24F1ST a, then it’s definitely 224DB. I’ve checked it few times - the location of the rectangular dent on 24F1ST was always same as on 224BB and the location of this dent on 24F1ST a was always same as on 224DB.

And for those who need it I’ve made FW dump from 24F1ST a (224DB clone) with Dosflash:

When I’ll be able to dump 24F1ST (224BB clone) firmware I’ll post it, too.

Or I have better idea…

junior8143, is your drive recognized by Windows as “DRW-24F1ST” or “DRW-24F1ST a”? If it’s “DRW-24F1ST”, could you please make firmware dump from this drive with Dosflash utility and share it?

Also anyone who has DRW-24F1ST without “a” letter, please make the dump from this drive with Dosflash.

Has any of you managed to edit the firmware of the “DRW-24F1st a”? I want to edit the write speed on the Ritek S04 66 Media to make it 2.4x! I’ve tried to dump the firmware but with no success, therefore I downloaded those 2 dumps posted in this thread but it wont let me edit them. Can you guys help? Thanks!
