Asus DRW-1604P -> Pioneer DVR-108 -> Piodata DVR-108 problem

I could burn an Iomega DVD+R at 4x when it was still my Asus DRW-1604P used it’s own v1.14 firmware but when I flashed the kernel and firmware to Pioneer using DVR-108 v1.18 - RPC-1 + 12xRip + nx4all.zip and even Piodata using DVR-108D into DVR-108DX.zip, the burn speed dropped down to 2x!

What’s up with that? Also the read speed dropped down to 1.6x!

I always use the same Iomega media for my Xbox image burning and re-copying needs.

I sorely want to use Piodata because of the +R to -ROM auto-bitsetting.

Could anyone help?

My Liteon SOHW 1633S@1653S is faring better than my Asus drive :confused:

@ warfab
have you checked your DMA lately?

Never mind… I got my answer from another site’s forum

Sorry for late reply, sorted it out. DMA problem. Just uninstalled the IDE Controller drivers and rebooted so that Windows can reinstall the correct IDE Controllers again.
