I've seen multiple posts saying to use the ASPI Layer instead of SPTI, etc. I'm curious now. I know Nero uses its own ASPI Layer instead of the default Windows XP ASPI Layer. Is there a way to get Nero to use the Windows ASPI Layer for burning? Just wondering if it would result in better burns with DVD's and such. I notice that even though the system is running well I still get times when the buffer underrun light pops on for my LDW-451S during the Writing Lead-In and occasionally during Lead-out phases and I'm wondering if Window's default ASPI layer might correct that problem.
My results with Ritek media are quite good right now and I'm pretty satisfied but of course there is always that itch to make it that much better. And I do have Ultra Mode DMA 2 enabled for both of my optical drives and have the hard drives off-set to my Promise IDE Controller since I'm using a KT133A chipset to help things out a bit.
Thanks for all the help - I don't know what I would've done if these forums would not have been here.
