Ashampoo - could not read file

I’ve just loaded Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.80 and tried to burn an audio CD. I tried to add my first file - a .wav file which according to the documentation is a supported file type.

Ashampoo kick out an error message “could not read the file”

Is this because I have the free version?

Thanks,

Hi and Welcome!

your source file might be corrupted. I don’t think this is due to the free version you are using.

See if you can playback that file using your favourite media player.

I’ll try to uninstall and re-download/install - see if that fixes it

Does the file play using Media Player or whichever software you use?

If you can playback the file in Windows Media player, then at least it is physically readable. You might check the properties of that audio file - anything different from 16bit/44.1kHz is not CDDA standard compliant and might not be supported by your Ashampoo software since additional audio conversion might be needed.
