Got 75 of these but won’t work with my dell laptop drive.

Its a TSSTCORP TS L632D, tried burning with Nero and ImgBurn.

Get “could not perform start of disc at once” error.

Can anyone recommend me a external drive that will work with these disc’s.

@ timothybr,

Welcome to the Forum.

Arita does not actually manufacture any Media. Arita Media is “B” grade Ritek Media which is not really saying much since “A” grade Ritek Media isn’t very good Media either. In short Arita branded Media is poor quality problematic Media which should be avoided.

Instead of purchasing a DVD Burner in an attempt to Burn the garbage Arita Media just spend the money and purchase known proven high quality DL Media.

To consistently obtain quality error free DL Media Burning results suggest using known proven quality Verbatim DL MKM001/MKM003 Mitsubishi Kagaku Media. All other DL Media is considered suspect and should be avoided (not used).

Provide the Media MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example: TYG02) of the ‘Arita’ DVD+R DL Media. To obtain the Media MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example: TYG02) suggest using a utility program similar to DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com).

@ timothybr,

The Arita DVD+R DL Media might have appeared to Burn properly but knowing the poor quality of Arita Media I doubt the resulted Burn was quality error free Burn.

The definitive means to ensure a quality error free Burn is to use a diagnostic software utility program similar to Nero CD-DVD Speed (http://www.cdspeed2000.com/files/NeroCDSpeed_47716.zip) and/or DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) and perform a Disk Quality Scan of the Burned DVD Media disk.

Hi bjkg,
I burned 2 disc’s now and found that at the start of episode 3 on both disc’s it stutters for the first 8 minutes then plays fine.

The other 3 episodes play fine.

Does this sound like a layer break issue since its at the start of episode 3 on both disc’s?

I attached the layer break info from imgburn.

Any help appreciated.

@ timothybr,

That is an inherent problem with attempting to use cheap poor quality manufactured Arita DVD+R DL Media especially with cheap poor quality DL Media. Don’t be fooled into believing that you are mystically going to find some magic Burning ‘tricks’ you can employ to improve the quality of your cheap poor quality Arita DVD+R DL Media – the only remedy is to purchase and use known proven quality DL Media. The best DL Media available is Verbatim DL MKM001/MKM003 Mitsubishi Kagaku Media. ALL other DL Media is considered suspect and should be avoided (not used).

Ritek manufactured Media is plagued with reflectivity degradation problems and remember that your Arita Media is “B” grade Ritek manufactured Media which means it is ‘more plagued’ with reflectivity degradation problems. The reflectivity degradation problems will only increase with time and use and eventually the Burned Arita Media disk will become totally un-viewable.

If in fact you perform a Disk Quality Scan of your Arita DVD+R DL Media you will find problems with ALL of your Burned Arita DVD+R DL Media. As pervious stated it is known that ALL Arita Media is cheap poor quality problematic Media and knowledgeable informed users avoid purchasing and attempting to use ALL Arita Media.

Do yourself a favor and discard your problematic Arita DVD+R DL Media and purchase known proven quality error free Verbatim DL MKM001/MKM003 Mitsubishi Kagaku Media.

bjkg

bjkg…Arita branded disks are one of the most popular and most purchased media available to date,i have personally bought and burnt hundreds of Arita dvd+r dl using them for xbox 360 games and ps3 avchd blu ray rips and had very few prolems with these disks.I agree Verbs are the best you can get without a doubt, but not everyone can afford to pay the premium price tag that comes with them.I for one recomend arita branded media 100%,but at the end of the day there are other factors involved like the writer you are using and its firmware, and of coarse the OS version its working in,along with the speed of the write process and so on and so on.
