Are the USB versions the same as the non-USB IDE and Sata versions?

If I can get my hands on a Plextor at a reasonable price, I might have to resort to putting it in a USB enclosure just to make it easier to use for me with both my newer hardware and multiple systems. I know it can be a bit of a mess to find a proper enclosure for it, especially if it’s IDE, are the USB versions of Plextor drives just the same thing in an official enclosure? Or are they not as good as the normal internal versions of the same model number?

The USB versions are not worse, but the same drives.
I own Premium 1 (USB), Px712 USB, PX 755 USB and Plexwriter 48/24/48U (USB), all still working fine.
