I do hope that someone will someday come up with what they will probably call “a new, innovative idea: a mobile device with an open architecture that anyone can modify.” If such a phone should ever appear, I’ll be the first to jump on that device.

Hopefully, they won’t make the IBM PS/2 mistake of patenting the living f*** out of the add-on buses, and suing anyone who fails to pay a ridiculous royalty fee. If they do, the “openness” device will become the equivalent of a a 16k smart watch for a cat: a completely stupid concept that no one cares about.
