I have produced a product called Game Film Index (www.lunchpailsports.com.)
I would like to be able to programmatically take a series of files from my application and feed them to Nero (or other authoring system) and have Nero open with those clips layouted in the correct order in the story board for my users.
This would allow them to simply burn the default layout, no sound or transistions, simply clicking burn and setting the burn options. Or, it would be good starting point for making a more elaborate video compilation.
I am not sure if there is an API that could do it, or if there is a way to produce a file that can be openned by Nero, with the source files for the video. Note the files are AVI and also need to be converted to MPEG2 before being burnt to DVD.
I looked at other 3 party tools for this and I am not really so happy with them, and my end product would not be as usefull as just setting up selected clips in order directly in an authoring utility like Nero.
Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.
I have been stuck for a while on this…going in circles.
