Awhile back I changed the firmware on my NEC 3520A to LD’s firmware I believe. Now I’m having problems with my burns. When I try to burn a dvd data and try to play it on my dvd player it doesn’t play anymore and I’m thinking it has to do with the firmware.
Yes, you can flash back to the original firmware.
Btw. can NEC detect if a modified firmware was ever flashed on the drive after goin back to the original one?
At least they can if you changed your booktype settings for DVD+R or DVD+RW.
So switching back to the manufacturers firmware doesn’t revert the bitsetting?
