I just purchased an LG GBC-H20L and through a bit of stupidity flashed the firmware to that of a GCC-H20L. The firmware flashing utility did not even try to stop me! It still works (shocking I know) at least with CD's. I would like a copy of the original firmware to re-flash it so that I know that blu ray's will play. I don't own any blu-rays so I can't exactly check it.
Anyone who owns the GBC-H20L could you dump your firmware (if you can even dump these firmwares) so that I can fix my drive. I just hope it isn't too late.
The GBC and GGC drives use the same hardware, the GGC-H20L firmware will work fine on your drive.
Im curious you say they have the same hardware yet one can play HD DVD’s and the other can’t (out of the box) if that is true can the the GBC when Flashed with GGC firmware play HD DVD’s then?
Yes, it can.
Where can I get FW for a GBC-H20L so I can Media Code it?
LG site: VERY FRUSTRATING !!!
You can crossflash your drive to a GGC-H20L, which voids your warranty.

How do you flash back to factory?
Are you saying there is no official FW for this drive.

None that I knew of.
