Anyone knows who manufacturs TDK's 48X spindles?

Comes at both 50 and 100 packs.
Certified 48X, 700MB.

It has a very colourful writing on the upper side.

“Made in Taiwan”.

Thanks.

It may be either ritek or CMC.

In europe there is a bigger chance that it’s ritek.

I may be wrong though, but in the past this statement have been true.

AFAIK, those are CMC in the US :

TDK
Disc Type = CDR (A+)
Manufacturer = CMC Magnetics Corporation

I actually live in Israel so it might as well be Ritek…

Yep. U never know till u try it

Hey Boskin, nice to see you back. What happened? Earlier today, your title said “Banned”??
How on Earth did that happen??

Thanks for your nice words, m8y !!!

Well, all I can say here is that “good things come naturally, bad - accidentally”.

It’s all good then… we still have you here

Found a photo of how the singles look like.
The upper side of the spindle has exactly that same looks.

Harrier, here in India, they are Ritek. Replied to your post at CDRLabs.

@NOVA and all,

These discs are definetly RiTEK. I have a 50-pack spindle of these discs with exactly the same cover, except rated at 48x-speed. The CMC-made TDK’s sold in the Asia-Pacific region are branded as “TDK Gold”. The only discs sold in the blue packaging is RiTEK. I’ve had very good success with these discs in my LiteON LTR-32123S with XS0X firmware. Very low C1 errors every time.

In the USA, both CMC and RiTEK are sold in the exact same packaging. :frowning:

Some one said that the 25 pcs packages are different than the 50 ones.

25 is allegedly CMC made and the 50 are Riteks.
Does anyone approve?

25 is allegedly CMC made and the 50 are Riteks.

I’ve seen either CMC or RiTEK in the 50-ct spindles, as well as the 100-ct spindles.

Oh, my wrong there.

I meant to write “50 pcs and 100 pcs” as i haven’t seen 25 pcs spindles.

Toss a coin, heads you get Ritek, tails you get CMC.
One note: all of the TDK 52x discs I’ve seen were Ritek.

G’day guys,

I think NOVA was asking about the discs with the packaging similar to the packaging shown in the attatchment in the above post. In that case, the only configurations you can buy are the singles in jewel cases, 10-packs with jewel cases, 10+1-pack in flip case, 20-pack in spindle, and 50-pack in spindle. These discs are all RiTEK-made.

However, TDK Gold discs, which are CMC-made, come in singles, 5-pack with slim cases, 10-pack with jewel cases, 10+1-pack in flip case, 25-pack in spindle, 50-pack in spindle, and 100-pack in spindle configurations.

Hope that clears things up!

I’ve only seen 50 and 100 pcs spindles.
So i’m actually risking for CMC here.

And another question regarding the producers of the next media:

Any clues?
