I know these questions pop up on here every couple of days, so I apologize for bringing it up again: Has anyone heard any rumors from our friends at Pioneer on when they're going to start selling the new DVD burners in the US?
Even with the 'net, and all the knowledge of the planet at our fingertips, it's been very frustrating to try and track down any clear information from Pioneer. Even on their websites it's extremely difficult to dig out info on these alleged new devices. I think the folks at Pioneer are deliberately trying to hype up this release, like they're a Fox-TV affiliate or something.
I know they can design and build some pretty great sound and design technology over there, but I think some of them might need to lay off the crack pipe a little more. Could their naming/numbering "system" (and I use the term loosely) be less clear? At first it seemed that the 100 series were IDE devices and the corresponding 200 series numbers were SATA...right? HAH! That would have been far too simple... sometimes letters are added at the end (or the beginning) and sometimes they're just a different set of numbers. So I guess I'm waiting on a DVR-215, or 2910...or S15...or 213K...or...well, I'll try to figure it out when the time comes. I will continue waiting patiently...
