Anyone having burning issue with "Get Smart"?

Backing up the movie: “Get Smart” with DVD Fab Platnium latest edition, it fails about 3/4 way threw burning to disc. I have tried it twice with same results prompt=“process FAILED”. I have done other recent realeases without problems with same burner and same media. ???Stuck???

Many :bow::bow:Thanks:bow::bow:

I am making coasters, Baby. Dont understand why it would go threw everything and fail at 3/4 way threw burn to disc, since it read it and decryped it and shrank it fine. I am using the iso burning software that is with DVDFAB.Thanks

PS- DVD Fab is the Chit, I love this program!! Thanks for A GREAT app.

I just did this movie with no problems at all using FAB Platinum and Verbatim media, if you could send a burn log and what media you are using would be helpful

Thanks for the reply, i am tring for A 3rd time as I speak will let you know when finnished.
Again, Thanks for the quick reply:iagree:

I did a backup with DVDFab… and it APPEARED to work fine… but then when I tried to watch it, segments of the movie were missing. I didnt watch the whole thing, but the bulk of the title credits were missing, as was the whole “Agent 23” scene in the war room… it skipped from Max getting out of the elevator to the bald guy complaining about his ex-wife using things he said in a custody hearing…

has anyone else had this problem?

Well it failed again…bummer here is the log: Thanks

I just viewed the backup and every so often it appears to skip ahead a few seconds. Frustrating to say the least.

Are you using DVDFAB 5.1.0.8? I was having a
similar problem with my copy of TINKERBELL.
I kept getting a reading error,full disc,movie mode.
In my log it said I was in P/O mode. So I carefully
cleaned off my dvd using a very mild dishwashing liquid.
Then I reset my DMA re did it and had no problem full disc.
I then did my copy of GET SMART full disc and had no problem.
So check your mode in your log time, and see what happens.

I am useing 5.1.1.0, i am going to reset dma and try to NOT make a coaster. Wish me luck. Thanks:flower:

You can download and use ImgBurn as the burn engine. This might fix the burn failure

Having the same problem withCloneDVD, reads about a third then get a error msg. No where near a burn.

My copy is “iffy”, it might rip or it might not. I scanned it with Nero DiscSpeed 4 and there are surface errors. Yet another poorly manufactured release.

Using DiscSpeed on a disc with structural protection isn’t really useful. Bad spots will appear due to the protection. A “good” copy of the widescreen release of this movie shows errors where they are showing up in your screenshot.

It would seem that there may have been bad batches of pressings sold or there are other contributing factors because I’ve seen numerous people have issues with both the widescreen and full screen releases. I have the widescreen release and and had no problems with making a backup using 3 different programs for ripping including DVDFab. I won’t name the other two programs because I’m sure it would annoy some people.

Nonetheless, during the ripping process there should be no errors. If an error occurs during burning then that’s obviously different. I haven’t checked playback from start to finish with the DVDFab rip and I’m really not interested. I already have my backup using other software, anyway. My point is that there should be no errors in the ripping process using v5.1.1.0 beta, period.

In short, yes, bad batches may have been sold but using DiscSpeed to confirm this is meaningless due to the protections on the disc since a “good” pressing will exhibit the same exact results that your Scan Disc screenshot is showing.

I only Clone movies, If there on DL +R like Get smart i use DL. If the orig is SL i clone the SL. There is no problem with copying it that i can see. At the time i used a Plextor 716A burner that i put into my own NEC External USB Chipset enclosure. I used Verbatium 2.4x MIS media and burned it @ a lil over 6x. I also have alot of other drives. I also burned it on 2.4x DL media MIS at 10x using a modified 112L. and i would get the same or better results with my 115L or 116 A16, Below is my DVDFab log for this movie and i also ripped it with DVDFab @ 15x for the ISO. There is no so called missing parts of the movie or skipping etc. You can’t tell the original from the copy. The full ISO should be 7.19gb. Also while im @ it ppl complaining of TinkerBell Walt Disney movie on that 100% clone. I can not speak for anything but cloning mode as i don’t use movie only, Full and all the rest.

I just did a MOVIE ONLY copy just to see if anything does’nt work or look correct on the disc. And DVDFab once again did a 100% working copying of Get Smart as seen in my log below. You have a Hardware or a software problem some where. Movie only on SL disc works fine as shown below. I used same burner as with the DL.

I would agree except that I had a little red fox in the tool bar.

Try some different media

You could also have a bad source disc, if a slower burner speed does not work with different media, then try another disc. This is common for movies to stamp out a bad disc, it might play okay but it wont backup.
