Anyone familiar with Sailor Moon? weird problem

It seems that for some reason, Vols 1-3 of the series (discs 1-3 episodes 1-36) won't read on my drives at all! However, all the others (discs 4-7), Sailor Moon S and the movies all read fine. Vols 1-3 even read in my tv's dvd player, but neither of my Sony drives even recognize them. Please note, these are not backups, they are the originals.

Vols 1-3 have english audio, MPEG-2 format same as 4-7. It's just odd that the first 3 are the only one's that my drives don't see.

Any info would be appreciated. I got the series for my g/f's 15 year old daughter for her birthday. She wanted backups (as I do for them all the time), but decided I would get the entire series on Ebay for $150. Thnaks for any help!

Do you can try the discs on another drive maybe from a friend. Could be that first three are defect or a bad press.

But they play on my regular dvd player with the tv. But for some reason, those are the only 3 that won't recognize on either of my sony dvd drives. I'm going to try someone else's pc for sure.

If everything you try fails, look into a program called IsoBuster. It might help.

I tried them on 2 other pcs with the same result. I use ISO buster but haven't tried it yet. However, won't my pc have to even recognize the disc before ISO Buster would work? I mean, I go to My Computer and it says the drives are empty with them inserted.
