Anyone ever ripped successfully only to find no file!?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever used DVD Fab to rip a DVD successfully, only to find in your external hard drive, there was no trace of the file as if it never existed?

I have copied and re-tried copying 4 different DVD's using 2 different optical drives tonight with DVD Fab... and nothing shows up on my HDD after burning. DVD Fab says "successfuly" and everything goes smoothly, but then no file appears.

I triple checked I have all the save settings and location correct... this is brand new to me in all my years working with computers... any guesses or experience with this!?

PS: I did a destructive re-set of my laptop this week, but I don't know why that would hurt. I have a fresh operating system and I'm using the same dependable new external HDD I always have; plus I have the most up to date versions of DVD Fab..... hmmmmm:a

…hmmmmmm indeed. From the way your description reads, it looks like you’re trying to burn a DVD to your HD.

So I don’t go off on a wrong tangent trying to figure this out, and for the benefit of others here thinking of helping, can you please provide a step by step account of what you did and where it started going wrong - once we understand, we’ll be able to help you.

Sure… I followed procedure as I have for the past couple months, using DVD Fab, I inserted my DVD into internal and external optical drives I have also used for the past couple months, and after DVD Fab read the discs and gave me the save option (target) I selected both of my external HDD’s seperate times (which have also never shows signs of error before) and selected the save as .ISO option, and simply clicked ‘START’.

After that, the entire copy process began and finalized without a hitch… the indicator bar went as normal, THE ONE THING I DO NOTICE IS THAT ON THE HISTORY-STATUS SCREEN WHEN THE DISC IS FINALIZED, IT ONLY SAYS “COPY PROCESS STARTED… COPY PROCESS COMPLETED.” For some reason it does not say “ISO PROCESS STARTED… COMPLETED” as it has for these past couple months.

That’s strange… I just noticed that. What would be keeping DVD Fab from creating the actual ISO image to save into my HDD? And where are all these copied files going??

I am going to try and attach a screen shot of the program history status that shows no iso image was created…

yes, using free dvdfab decrypter to rip dvd to ISO. the ISO creation is currently broken. dvdfab will use Ner0 or ImgBurn in future. please wait for new releases. or use ImgBurn in Build Image Mode to create ISO.

yes and no!

when burning you can save or delete the temporary video_ts folder. in my experience, dvdfab has always acknowledged my request to save temporary files.

Can’t I download an older version of DVD Fab I’ve always used so that I can use the option to create an ISO?

The most recent stable version that still supports ISO creation in one step please.

(I do have a really old version, about 1 year old, in another laptop I hardly ever use… is there any way I can transfer that DVD Fab program that supported ISO creation to my current laptop in case you don’t have a more recent version I can download that still supports ISO Creation?)
