AnyDVD (188.8.131.52) works just fine on my WinXP HTPC, using either PowerDVD or MyHD 120 - except for one DVD: Fiddler on the Roof (MGM, ISBN 0-7928-3895-5). The Fiddler DVD plays on my two standalone DVD players, and also plays on my IBM Thinkpad (WinXP) using PowerDVD, but the home theater PC won't read it. Windows Explorer can't even see the disk file structure. WinXP is up to date. Dozens of other DVD have been played on the machine without a problem.
I first suspected the Sony DVD reader, so I replaced it with a Pioneer DVD-A06U. No change: all DVDs can be read and played except the Fiddler disk. Disk looks fine. In fact, it's playing in background on this IBM Thinkpad T41 as I write this. So why won't it run on my desktop PC (P4, plenty of RAM, etc)?
Any clue? Thank you.
