Ok here is my quandary:
I have archived my dvds successfully in the past using Anydvd + Nero Recode2 (Nero 9), or if I have a troublesome dvd using Shrink + Nero, no problems... they all come up at 4 or so GB. I have set aside about 5 until the end of my project (now) that are coming up at 7 or so GB in all my programs and not all of them are brand new titles and none are blue ray or hd. Further Nero Recode will not allow me to compress the main movie title and Shrink only lets me compress a couple of degrees. Ultimately I can use Nero vision to rescan and recode them at 4.7 but that is a long process or I can get dl's but that is unnecessary as this is a recession and those are kind of pricey... Add to that I have a strong suspicion that the size of these exceptional dvds are the result of some dummy sectors that I have not figured out how to remove.
So that is my question: are the increased size on just a couple of my dvds the result of dummy sectors or are they really dl movies?
Has anyone had problems archiving their dvds that are burned on both sides?
