AnyDVD and 1ClickDVD don't work after latest Windows Update

I’ve been using AnyDVD Ver 5.9.5.6 and 1 Click DVD 4.2.9.2. On April 20th, after the latest microsoft automatic update for Windows 2000, I now get an error from 1 Click DVD once it gets about 95% done with the first stage: A read error has occered while reading a file. The file may be encrypted or cannot be read correctly by the DVD device. If you are using a decrptor, you may need to restart your computer."

I have reinstalled both programs and that does not correct the issue. I’ve tried to delete the update, but even that won’t correct the problem.

There is a warning on Microsoft that shows how to correct this without the uninstall: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165

I tried that too but it didn’t work. I’ve turned off the automatic update so it is no longer there… I’ve edited the regedit file even though the update isn’t there but still no luck. I just want to get back to where I was before Microsoft screwed everything up. Ideas? I’m desperate!!!

Ah,…re-install Windows.
