Anydvd 4.0.4.1 released

changelog:4.0.4.1, 2004 09 29

  • New: Option to remove “Protection based on
    unreadable Sectors”
If this option is checked, AnyDVD will change
the .IFO files on the DVD in a way, that a
copy program like Elaborate Bytes’ CloneDVD
will not try to copy the bad sectors of a DVD
copy protection, and will be able to successfully
    make a copy.
This makes it possible to create backups of Video DVDs
    protected with ARccOS copy protection:
    http://www.sonydadc.com/products.copy.arccos.go
Protected discs with this protection include
Wrestlemania 3+4 (UK), The Mission German, Gothika
    German, and others.
Further the protection on Puppetlock type 1-3 will be
removed. This includes titles “Jim Knopf und Lukas,
der Lokomotivführer”, “Urmel aus dem Eis”, “Jim Knopf
und die Wilde 13”, “Urmel im Schloss” (all German) and
    others.
Bad sectors will be replaced with empty sectors,
so other copy programs (e.g., CloneCD 5, DVD Shrink,
Nero Recode, etc.) or simple file copy with Windows
    Explorer will work, too.
You should enable this option, if you wish to copy
a DVD with CloneDVD, CloneCD 5 or a similar program.
  • Fix: Conflict with AOPEN flash tool
  • Some minor fixes and improvements
  • Updated languages

DVD movie:MAN ON FIRE(Region 1,DTS)

Hello:

When these bad sectors are ignored, what is the effect on final playback of the DVD (if any effect at all)?

Thanks!

Ed

No effect, as those intentional bad sector hasn’t got anything to do with movie itself, it is for ‘fooling’ sector copiers, such as CloneCD/DVD or even windows explorer… There are bad sectors added to disk and those are pointed somewhere in IFO files etc, but ofcourse they doesn’t contain anything useful, as they just are bad sector which can’t be copied (because they are bad sectors). so AnyDVD trick is to make those bad sectors just be empty sector, so any program can copy those DVDs.

Has this new ARccOS Technology been applied to Region 1 DVDs?

Is it just me or does the autorun feature for dvd’s not work in any of these 4.x versions of Anydvd?

I don’t believe it worked for me either but I use Microsoft’s Tweak UI instead to disable the autorun feature.

Thanks!

I have installed the latest version and the first DVD I try to copy a DVD (Sexual Provocation Z2 Belgium), I have an error messag of CRC Error when CloneDVD 2 begin the compression of the DVD.
I have reinstalled the previous version of AnyDVD and I haven’t this messag.

Anybody have this problem too ?

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Cyrille

Anydvd is not guaranteed to work with Belgium porn.

Lol
But it’s not a porn movie. Maybe a little bug with my computer because with the 4.0.4.1 I haven’t got problem since…

To get ANYDVD to work go to settings and hit Safe Mode it should work then.
