i need one cheap right now
Cheap is probably why your here asking for help. I’d go with a Seasonic or one that Seasonic makes for another brand.

Usa, yes i know i am being cheap.

I just spent over 1k to repaint my house and funds are pretty tight now. well the painting started off going to cost $600 and then all the xtra stuff you need to go with the new paint…

i want to get an antec but something that will last a few months would be great until then. i wouldnt mind spending around $50-70$ w shipping

This is just what you are looking for: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371005 It has free shipping and is $30 after the mail-in rebate. I have this power supply in an Antec case and it works very well. I have an AMD X2 (OC’ed to 2.8 ghz), ATI video card, Biostar S939 MB, three hard drives, one DVD burner, two case fans, PCI card, four sticks of RAM and a couple of USB 2.5" hard drives connected to it. It hasn’t so much as hiccuped one time. It is a fantastic deal right now for a very good and capable power supply that has 80+ efficiency certification.

If you’d rather look at other options check out this link:

Alot of options there although some may be a bit dated.

DO you mean you want something cheap for now and then can spend 50-70$ later or that you can spend 50-70$ now?

If its now, here is a seasonic 500 watt on sale for 73$ free shipping (at least thats the sale price right now when I posted).
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151040

and a few antecs on sale
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010320058+50001516+4803+113142554&name=Antec

There are plenty from xclio, fortron etc in the 50-60$ range too

If under 400 watts would be ok, you could of course go cheaper.

would http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371005 be enough power? i have read that you want at least a 450watt ps… i dont know, just what i have read

#13

IMO, the Earthwatts 380 watt PS is plenty unless you are running power hungry dual video cards. As I stated, I have this supply driving an overclocked socket 939 dual core processor, three 7,200 rpm hard drives, 16X DVD burner, an add-on PCI card, and ATI 700XT PCI Express video card and two 2.5" USB hard drives. Based on Antec’s wattage calculator I only need a 318 watt power supply and this includes a 20% increase to account for capacitor aging in the power supply. Unless you have a very power hungry system this PS should be plenty for you. Here’s a link to Antec’s wattage calculator: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/powercalc.jsp

Here is a link to a cheap 500 watt power supply from Radio Shack. Here is a $25.00
rebate to make it better. I have no idea how good this is but I picked 1 up just to have a backup and to burn up a gift card I had laying around.

That is an excellent power supply for the price being its 500 watt
and Thermaltake being the Mfg. of it. AWILLIAMS64 couldn’t go
wrong with it or the Antec EA380 either as they’re both excellent
power supply’s for the money. :iagree:

The $25 rebate on the radio shack PS is good till May 31 2007, not good unless you have a delorean sitting around. And I was heading out the door when I noticed that.
Still not a terrible price, just not a outstanding price.

Here is a pdf of the right rebate, oops also the wrong rebate, still looking!

It looks like the rebate is only good for online purchases but I will include the pdf in case somebody wants to try it. Sorry about missing the 2007 date on the last rebate. You will probably have to use the ship to store option to qualify. This rebate is also for only $20.00

i went to the "find a store near you to check availability and nothing came up, i will call them tomorrow to see if they have it available. so if the $20 off works it would only be 9.95…???
