Analog to Digital Conversion

I’m looking into converting a video that I have into digital format for editing. The video is a Windows Media Audio/Video file and is on a CD right now, just as a file. How would I go about converting it? Can a regular pc do this? What type of program would I use?

Thanks for any help

A google search would give you more information than you could use…
It depends on what format your analog video is currently in (VHS tape, on a video camera, video file). For VHS tape, you need a conversion box or card to pass the data to your pc and convert it to DV-AVI or it can be processed directly into a number of different playable video formats. If it is on a video camera which has usb or firewire, you can transfer it convert it to dv-avi via a video codec.

If you intend to start working with video, it would highly benefit you to spend some time reading up on video capture, video editing, video authoring… A good place to start would be www.videohelp.com

It’s already ‘digital’. Use Widows Movie Maker. Free with Windows.
