An unhandled win32 exception occurred in DVDFab.exe [1512]

I have recently upgraded to DVD fab 5 and every time I try to burn an ISO file DVD fab crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling (complete uninstall) and I am still getting the program crash.

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate.

Debugging software is showing the following:
Unhandled exception at 0x004fa3f7 in DVDFab.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.
First-chance exception at 0x004fa3f7 in DVDFab.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks

When you say “complete uninstall” is that going by the guide found below in my signature ?

Thanks
Are you trying to burn an existing ISO file using Write Data mode, trying to convert a folder to ISO with Write Data mode or trying to decrypt and process an original DVD disc to an ISO output (Target)?

In response to the questions

I am trying to burn an existing ISO file. I have tried several ISO files with the same result. I am navigating to the ISO and double clicking or selecting start and this is when the crash happens.

The complete uninstall was per the guide I found. All the specified folders were deleted and the registry entries were deleted.

Thanks

When you open DVDFab select Write Data mode, next to the source dropdown window click on the far right button to navigate to the ISO file and then click ok then select your drive as the target then click start.

If you have ImgBurn installed you can just right click on the ISO image file and select “Burn with ImgBurn”

I tried selecting the Write Data mode, then clicked on the open image icon to the right of the source box. A navigation box open and I navigate to the ISO file then click open. I then get an error message "DVDFab - The ultimate DVD copying/converting/burning foftware! has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I get 2 options. Debug (I have Visual Studio installed on my computer) or Close program. Close program does just that…close the program and no additional information is displayed. Clicking on Debug opens VS takes me to the offending break point. Since this is a retail version of the software and symbols are not included this call stack may not be that usefull.

What happens if you right click on the DVDFab icon and select run as Administrator ?
What happens if you right click on the DVDFab icon and select run as Administrator ?
That does not affect anything. I have the compatibility properties of DVDFab.exe set to “Run this program as an administrator.” Either way I start the program produces the same crash.

Thanks for your help on this.

Where or how did you get this problermatic ISO file on your hard drive and what is this ISO image file
maybe it has become corrupt

It is possible I have a corrupt ISO file. I am not at home now where I can do any testing but when I can Iam going to extract a couple of ISO’s from some other DVS and see if I can get a constant repro on this.
