An odd problem

Hi all! Long time lurker who couldn’t find an answer simply by reading posts so I thought I better join. Great site you have here.

I D/L’d a DVD file with Bittorrent and tried to burn it to disc using NERO, but got an error message saying my .BUP files were not identical to the .IFO files and the Compliance test failed. I tried copying the original .IFO files and renaming them .BUP, and vice versa, but that didn’t work. Then burned the original files to disc despite warning, but it didn’t work.

What can I do? Is there any way to salvage this hard to find import concert DVD?

I agree w/ imk, imageburn can handle almost anything you throw at it (w/ a learning curve) but I tend to shy away from the torrents, to anal about system security, LOL

Isn’t this against the rules? He downloaded a concert DVD from bittorrent?

Do you know if it’s copyrighted material for sure?

I don’t, and we give the benefit of the doubt unless it’s obvious.

It’s an older concert, an import and out of print. Was quite surprised to find a torrent of it. Would like to salvage the file if at all possible. Oh well, guess I’ll have to try Club CD Freaks.

Sounds like it to me. But I will leave the final decision up to you.

I’m afraid that’s hardly any more conclusive than the information we have here.

Whilst we appreciate the members bringing things to our attention, we would request that in future you please use the ‘Report Bad Post’ button, and the CD Freaks Staff will deal with it.

If out of print doesn’t do it for you then I don’t know what will. Fair enough.

Sorry, I didn’t realize torrents were taboo here. I would have thought anyone who uses AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter like you have in your sig line wouldn’t be all that concerned with copyright, since as we all know those programs are to defeat copy protection and people using them for strictly legit purposes are probably as rare as terrorists who are gun-shy. :wink:

Whether you believe everyone is “legit” or not, the rules of the forum should be respected, and followed. If you can do that, you’ll find these forums are friendly, and extremely helpful towards newcomers.
