AMD plans to add PlayReady 3.0 support to its graphic drivers, allowing users to watch Netflix in Ultra HD on their Windows computer. Currently it’s only possible to watch Ultra HD content from the video streaming site with a limit number of CPUs and graphic cards.


IMHO, 1080p is overkill. You won’t hear that from a good number of tech news sites or sales pitches, but it’s true in my experience. That said, 4k is even more overkill. I will not subjugate myself to some new “advanced” DRM just to watch 4k videos. Screw that.

(Although I suppose this rant about DRM is irrelevant since my machines probably can’t handle 4k videos anyway.)
