This update isn't introducing new architecture for the chips or reducing manufacturing process sizes but the company is squeezing out some extra performance and providing unlocked versions for overclocking.

98% of the amd chips were so underperforming (compared to intel) to begin with except for the 6 core processors. Nevertheless, declining demand will also push down prices as well regardless of what they do to add value.
