I'm not sure if your drive is EFM capable but you can test it with this:
http://forum.alcohol-software.com/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=2196 (Use the EFM Test as your drive is not on the list).
With the latest securom (4.8) you can use one of two methods. This one is my preferred method but only works in about 90% of drives (if you don't want to waste CD-Rs try it on a CD-RW first):
This method work in all drives but Alcohol must be installed and running on the computer you want to play the game on:
As for Safedisk 2, after running the test file you will know if you have a 1 or 2 sheep burner (possibly 3 sheep as the drive is untested). If it is a 1 sheep burner you can burn Safedisk 2 up to 2.51 without emulation and if it is 2 sheep you can burn all versions of Safedisk without emulation. (If your drive is a 1 sheep drive make sure to enable Bypass EFM error when copying Safedisk 2.51 or above).
In the unlikely event that you have a no sheep drive then you must alway have bypass EFM error enabled (possibly Bad Sector Emulation enabled aswell).
NOTE: Correct EFM encoding (ie 2 sheep) is only relevent to Safedisk 2.
If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
