having problem with 716a. It’s writing discs fine, but the data on it has bitwise differences from the source. I’m guessing the drive is dead or dying?

I had a similar experience recently. A burn with a 760 and nero reporting a couple of different sectors upon verify. Immediately burning the same compilation again showed no errors anymore. Data corruption is usally a driver problem. But frankly i’m clueless what could have been the cause …

I did have one earlier instance of data corruption, see here: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.php?p=1511782&postcount=15 also one other person (see that thread) had similar problems.

What software where you using? PTP(XL)?

BTW: can any moderator change the topic to something more meaningful?

Nero 7.5.9.0
I flashed back to 1.09 burned and it was fine, I guess I’ll flash back to 1.10 and see how it goes. I don’t mind wasting single layer discs, but if this problem crops up on a $1 MKM DL disc I’d go bonkers. And it has. :a

hmmm couple more burns and no more corruption. ack. the only thing worse than corruption is random corruption.
