AGP Aperture Size

I have a TNT2 M64 with 32MB RAM. System RAM is 256 SD RAM.

Which AGP Aperture size will be suitable for my system ? Is it 8,16,32,64,128 or 256 MB ?

Is it a quarter of my system RAM or half of my system RAM ?

I think 128MB will be fine for you. Common rule is to set the AGP Aperture size to 50% of your system memory.

BTW, you can always try and test! Select a setting, do some bencmarks, select another setting etc… just to find the optimal situation for your system!

What is this setting for actually ?

This sets the max. internal memory that your AGP graphics card can use…

Is it the amount of system RAM that will be allocated for graphics ?

Yes but it’s not allocated in that ram is just sitting there waiting for your GFX & GFX only. It can still be used by your system…the AGP aperture set’s addresses in memory that give the AGP card priority in case of need.

Dee-ehn gives good advice on AGP aperture

Thanks for the advice everyone !
