It's been awhile since I've installed a second hard drive and can't remember the proper sequence after getting to the disk management screen ....is it initialize, partition then format? I've searched but can't find the answer to this (I know it's probably here somewhere)
Thanks in advance
Yes, that’s basic routine in recent versions of Windows. Generally the partition and format are in the same step though. I’d recommend a full format not a quick format though so you can ensure the entire drive is good with no bad sectors.
open the start menu (click on the windows “orb”
Right CLICK on “Computer”
Choose “Manage” from the drop down menu
Select “Disc Management” from the left side column.
that’ll get you there.
was very helpful to me just now…installed a third drive in my beast
but the system couldn´t find it
(I could see it in BIOS but had no idea how to set it up)
Now I´m good to go
PS. The head kitty also said not to do a quick format, but best to do a full format.
