For starters I used the bitset setting firmware (Liggy's) It comes up with an error about being 2 bytes different, but I gave it the go ahead to upgrade the firmware. The drive fails to work properly. I can go back and use the Sony's Optiar firmware 1.09 and it works perfectly.
NOTE: (IDE type ATA DVD Drives)
(I have two of these drives so I tried it on another machine and I am having problems with the same type of upgrade). The drive opens and closes, the drive is recognized by the computer, but it doesn't read or write.
DVD Identifier with having a disk in it fails. (The disk is a valid disk in the AD-7201A drive.)
I'm sure other people are having problems with the upgrade so please look into it. (Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?) The AD-7200 drive is the Master in both machines.
The AD-7201A firmware works but the AD-7200A firmware doesn't. (From Liggy's Modified Nec firmwares).
