Yesterday’s leaked AACS 2.0 Volume Keys have revealed there’s a major loophole in the copy protection used on Ultra HD Blu-ray (UHD BD) discs. The loophole was already known by insiders. The leaked keys, combined with the loophole, pave the way for (open source) software to playback UHD BD discs, but also for new UHD…

Like I been saying where there is a way there is a will. They seems to think the more protection the better but instead it just make it easier for those to break or leak it more worth it. Not sure why they keep shooting themself in the feet all the time.

Open-source UHD-BD players are nice.
But they have to consider, that any secure thing will be broken one day.
DVD lasted around 5 years.
BD-UHD around 2 years.
Netflix? Powerless against stream packet capture, advanced media grabbing and screen recording.
