zaitec2 now modded the 2x4all-rpc1 v1.30 firmware to remove the 2x dvd ripping speeds.

i haven’t measured the speed, but ripping a 4.5 pressed dvd now takes 8min for me!

read the entire thread for tips & probs.

flash at your own risk.

I must say that this firmware works perfect!!! It’s the best I have tested.

All my 1x Bulk Princo CD started to work perfect. I can write these media in 2x with out problems. And I can read these DVD’s in all my DVD-players! It’s amasing!

Try it. You will not regreat it. But of course there’s allways a risk.

I say go for these firmware if you want to burn on cheep media. Like Princo or other cheeper 1x media’s. SAVE MONEY!!!

Jeez, not even a link to rpc1.org even though that’s where the firmware came from? :frowning:

#4

@Dyzan: Would you mind posting a PI/PO measurement?

@Alexnoe, what do you mean? Explain

By the way. If you lock at my media test page. you can se that it’s not Princo 2X media i have tested the hacked firmware. Actully on the brands that calls for dvdbulk.net that are rebaged Princo’s or a stolen id i guess. Any way these media was not so good to burn in 1X before. I burn it now in 2X with tha hacked firmware. Works perfekt.

Look into the KProbe thread. PI/PO for DVD is something like C1/C2 on CDs

DOH! None of my DVD-Readers/burners are compatible with this program.

Well, i gues that I have to buy that Lite-On 163 DVD.

Okej here is some results. But in Nero CD Speed.

First the 2x burned dvd test readed in my dvd-burner.

http://dyzan.myftp.org/network/dvd-guide/test/dvr-105m1.jpg

Then the 2x burned dvd test readed in my old dvd-reader Pioneer 103. ( This reader is very sesitive for bad burns and bad medias. And the results are after then ) as you can se. som errors in the end. very sesitive dvd-reader. =) Not the best at all.

http://dyzan.myftp.org/network/dvd-guide/test/dvd-103m2.jpg

Now I burned the same DVD-Media (bulkdvd.net (Princo) ) But instead of 2x I burned in 1x! Remember that when I got the original firmware 1.30. I was a bad burn even in 1x.
And again. I test read this DVD-MEdia in my old sesitive DVD-read Pioneer 103. Hmm. The results are amazing!!! no errors at all. And there was many errors before with the original firmware. Not to shabby with this hacked firmware.

So… It not bad results with this Princo rebaged DVD’s. Even if Princo are thouse dvd’s that you shuld stay away. In normal cases. I have tested even 3t PRO DVD-Medias. But they still fail in both speed’s even if it has the same as dvdbulk.net, the Princo id. But I don’t exaktly shure that it is the same id on dvdbulk.net and 3t PRO. Probebly diferent speed’s on these.

I have heard that if you run the older firmwares like 1.0 you can burn 3t PRO with out a hitch… Any one can confirm this?

Any way. there are printed down some results in my dvd-guide page. Mainly a page for my own. and not official. But you can lock at it if you want. And I’m glad if you come with some comments.

Have tested riping a dual layer dvd. And it’s true that the 2x limit is gone.

from 6x - upp to 8.2x is the reading speed with this hacked firmware. Nice!
