I'm completely new here, and I know how I will sound :o but hopefully I get to understand something at last.
I have been burning lots of discs, using Roxio, having the same problem appearing from time to time, but now it has reached its climax point. I have a Pioneer DVR 107D drive on my stationary PC, where I burn the absolute majority of discs, and it looks like it doesnt want to burn any DVDs which have either speed 8x, or 16x, or 1-16x. Normally what I get is a destroyed disk. And now I cant buy any 1-4x or 2-4x DVDs any more in larger packages, since they just come in 5pcs packages, but I burn a lot, backuping my whole DVD collection, writing my own stuff on the DVDs. So any of you guys could tell me what the problem is and what could I do? I guess probably my drive is 4x and cant take 1-8x disks? Is there a way to update a drive? Or I have to buy completely new hardware? Is there anyplace online you know where to buy disks lower than 4x? I have heard of a company called Mercury producing such disks, but couldn't find them.
I would really appreaciate information from you!
