I need to get a DVD Burner. I don't use one often but I sure need to backup some stuff and I'd like a good one that will last awhile. I thought I'd ordered one from Newegg about a year ago but I ordered A CDR/DVDROM by mistake lol.
By the time I got around to shipping it back it was too late so while I instinctively thought to get a combo CD/DVD Burner it struck me that I've already got a CD Burner (LiteOn SOHC-5236V) So I guess I'd like some opinions should I get a Combo or just a DVD Burner Since I have a CDR Already. Another issue are my Availabe SATA Ports I have a DFI-NF4 SLI-DR mobo but my video card blocks two of my SATA Ports:rolleyes: There are SATA ports 5-9 but I'm not clear if they are for Raid only or if I can use them with impunity I'm now using up the two available main Sata's with two HDD's.
Advice greatly appreciated Lightscribe not essential but the one time I had it I used it only once or twice and was quite cool but the discs were very pricey if I recall correctly. So Internal Sata or ATA DVD burner or DVD/CD burner Combo. I've never used a dual sided drive But I'll be backing up my music and photo's ect. So if dual sided discs aren't cost prohibitive that would be cool. I was excited about the mass storage potential of the new format (Blu-ray) until I saw the prices, that one can wait. Thanks, Mike
