I’m curious. As write speeds go up on DVD recordable media is there a quality issue as there is with CD recordables? If I write a CD-R at 52x it’s hit or miss whether I get a disc that reads back 100% all the time. Do DVD recordables suffer the same issue? I wonder what will happen when they reach 16x
The answer is “yes and no”. It has more to do with correct laser calibration than the actual speed used. In some cases, calibration is better on a given media at higher speed than it is at lower.
So it all depends on the specific burner and how it’s calibrated by it’s firmware.
There’s no universal answer for either DVD OR CDR.
