Hello!
I would like to say hello to eweryone on this forum and i’m sorry my english.
I’m a wery glad owner of Lite on- 451S,but since i have upgraded to a 851S i’m not so wery happy.Before i could make my own copies of DVD movies and i can play it on my stand alone Sony-DVP-S7700 without any problems.I still can make a copys,but i can not play them all on my Sony-(can not play this disc).If i would like to see my movie on computer it seems like ewerything is OK.I use only VERBATIM DVD+R with DVD Shrink,Nero6 or DVD Clone.I’ll tried to burn a movies with 8x,wich works fine on my neighbours DVD plyr,wich is Sony DVP-NS333.Can someone tell me why it would not play on my stand alone.I have been burned all way long with 2,4x,4x,8x,but only some of this medias work fine on my Sony.Please help.:bow: :sad:

Bitsetting fools your player. When you insert a burnt DVD with modified bitsetting the player “thinks” it is a pressed DVD disc. However, bitsetting will not help much if the player can’t read your discs because of the poor recording quality.
You can always revert back to 451s if you’re not happy with the drive performance @851s after all.

@all

If his discs played back when Fishbone burned them with a 451S, then I don’t see how bitsetting would help. Not sure how auto-bitsetting would help, either… In this case, it would probably be best if he could post some KProbe scans of burns done on the 451S and on the 451S@851S.

@pinto2

When linking, please link to the thread and not the page itself. :slight_smile: This is because the page’s URL is subject to possible change if I ever decide to move to a different server. Thanks.

I have a GSOC firmware when i was upgraded 451S@851S,and i was trying to update with the new one GSOH,but it was not possible.My dvd drive was just flashing a orange light without any response.Now i get it back on the old one firmware.Is it possible that my firmware make a confusing with my DVD plyr.I did not have some kind of probs when i burned on a DVD+RW,i think maybe is beacuse how fast i can burn a +RW.But anyway i’m still searching.

Please tell us what that scan is about. :confused:
Media, on media, burned at, bitsetting, aso.

And the “Speed” when scanning with KProbe should be set to “4X”…

Kind´a strange mediaidentification. Download THIS tool and post mediacode.

:wink:

I get a (GSOC F/W) when i did overclocked my drive.The question is,can i have a GSOF now,and would that help.I have tried with GSOH and my drive was just flashing orange after rebooting a system.I could do nothing.

#18

I think you have to use patcher on firmware. Try THIS
Report back if nogo. :wink:

#19

Thanks a lot.I hope that would be a helpfull.

#20

Yes you have to patch the 851S firmware if you want to flash it on the 451S everytime you flash the firmware. THe orange flashin light normally comes up when that happens…
