well as the title says which are good discs to use with the lite on 812s for both +R and -R

Discs with codes from these manufacturers (in no particular order):

TY, MCC/MKM/Verbatim, Maxell, TDK (if not fake), Ricoh/Ritek (very common), CMC (also fairly common)

And probably others, too. But these are the most oft-mentioned onces.

The media code/Manifacturer ID… you can obtain it in various ways, e.g. with tools like DVDINFOPro.
