7173S firmware update

Hello everybody,

I’m trying to flash the 7173S bitsetting firmware using the linux version of binflash.
After a few minutes it gives me this error:

necflash -flash -v -s 100bt_rpc1.bin /dev/sg1
Binflash - NEC version - (C) by Liggy and Herrie
Visit http://binflash.cdfreaks.com

Identified drive: 37
Detected drive from Firmware: 37

Entering safe mode
Sending firmware to drive at 0x030000
Sending firmware to drive at 0x038000
Error sending firmware to drive
Error while flashing firmware

Luckily the drive still works :stuck_out_tongue:
However ofcourse with the old firmware
Mainboard is an Asus P5B-E
OS is ubuntu 7.04 x86_64

necflash -scan gives this output:

Binflash - NEC version - (C) by Liggy and Herrie

You are running Binflash with root permissions? (su / sudo)

Yes, I’m running as root.

For some reason the command to send the new firmware to your drive is not handled properly. Unfortunately I have no idea what the reason for this could be.

Ok, thanks for looking into this.
I’ll try some other linux distro probably this weekend.
