I must admit, I am not sure if it was my system or the drive, but I had to jump through hoops to replace the old burner that came with my DELL. I am using Win XP Pro, and the darn machine kept rebooting every so often. I finally ended up removing both my burner and dvd player, installed the Liteon as the master, and rebooted, then installed the dvd and rebooted. I can now use both, but I still get a very annoying reminder of my problems every time I boot up... system has recovered from a fatal error... do you want to send to MS... even if you say no, it still prompts you the next time, but the machine seems to run ok. I guess I'll get to it when I have time.. but I think it is more of a system issue than anything else.
Other than that, the drive is excellent. I have copied both safedisc 2, 2.7, 2.8 (which I could before with the old) and SecuRom New 4.8 (following the careful instructions put together by Philamber)
I have no complaints, It has done what I wanted. In copying a patched (with Twin Peaks) image with CCD4, I set it to write at 4X and worked fine.
Let me know if you need details on the profiles I used, but I would recommend this drive, at least this far.
