Greetings my friend
This is a old movie so shouldn’t have a major copyright protection structure so you may or should be able to use DVD Shrink to open the disc if it can not open the disc there may be a bad sector on the disc, have you tried scanning the disc using Nero disc speed ?
Hi, Tim! Long time since we’ve had a chat.
Re my problem… I’m trying to help Muttman with a problem he is having, and I was trying to see if I could duplicate his problem on my system. I deliberately picked Wait Until Dark, as I know it is an old release with few copy protections on it (don’t need any self-inflicted problems when I’m trying to help), so I thought it would be perfect for this test.
That is, until Fab kicked out with the error message and a submit details screen…
I’m also not thrilled that signals and Dialysis1 can’t duplicate my error. (Either I’ve done something to my system they haven’t, or they have and I haven’t… running down that change could be a trial…).
The only change I’ve made to the Windows installation defaults is the stopping of the Auto Play with MS Power Toys (aside from whatever changes are wrought by the installs of SP2 & 3 and the various MS Hot Fixes and security fixes…).
I haven’t tried DVD Shrink as it would be pointless in my effort to helping Muttman, and a scan of Wait Until Dark with Disc Speed 5 was 100% clean.
All previous incarcerations of this program have not resulted in the problem I’m now having, and I do play around with the program to see the results of the various options, so this is a first for me with this program, and is why I flagged it as a possible bug.
Any thoughts you have would be appreciated, as I’m currently stuck…
